H. Darien Behravan, DO

Dr. Behravan obtained his International Baccalaureate degree in Europe and moved to Washington DC. He attended college at the University of Maryland where he played competitive tennis. He attended medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Bio-Sciences. Dr. Behravan completed a residency in Anesthesiology at Thomas Jefferson University where he also completed a fellowship in critical care before attending Stanford University.


Dr. Behravan completed a fellowship in chronic and interventional pain at Stanford University where he received advanced training by some of the leaders in the field. He pursued special interest in implantable devices, interventional pain techniques and intradiscal procedures.


He has special expertise in spine, orthopaedic pain and  image guided procedures. Dr. Behravan is experienced in complex orthopaedic pain and chronic pain syndromes utilizing state of the art technology and a multidisciplinary approach to pain.


Dr. Behravan also uses botox in his practice for a variety of pain states including headaches, myofacial pain, post-surgical pain, excessive sweating and anesthetics.


Dr. Behravan enjoys playing tennis and maintaining a healthy life style. He has one child, a daughter that is the light of his life. 

Riddhi Patel, C-PA

Janice Cheung, FNP

Riddhi Patel is a Certified Physician Assistant, licensed in California to provide patient care in tandem with Dr. Behravan. She received her bachelor’s degree, Science in Physician Assistant studies, from Jefferson College of Heath Sciences. Riddhi began her journey as a pain management provider in Chattanooga, Tennessee where she developed a strong foundation of quality patient care and interventional healthcare treatment.  She has been practicing in the pain management field for well over a decade gaining amazing insight and knowledge as well as implementing evidence based medicine for an array of patient needs. Riddhi also has extensive experience working with addiction patients helping them regain themselves and restore their lives.


Riddhi excels in developing individualized care plans based the patient’s needs and current conditions. Her goal is to provide the upmost care and maintenance for patients.


If she is not in the office, she spends her time with two beautiful children and her wonderful husband traveling and planning outdoor adventures such as camping
​and hiking.

Janice Cheung is a Family Nurse Practitioner, board-certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and licensed by the state of California to provide cohesive health care management to patients of all ages. She received her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) at Western University of Health Sciences and her B.S. in Psychobiology at UCLA. She first started her journey in health care at UCLA where she implemented free health screenings and assessments for low-income communities in Los Angeles County. She previously worked as an RN in ICU at San Gabriel Valley Medical Center for several years, obtaining the experience and skills for critical care. She joined the Bay Area Pain and Spine institute in 2013 specializing in healthcare assessment for pain management and spinal disorders.


Janice has a unique combination of strong nursing skills and strives to provide comprehensive pain management and health care. She believes in building a trusting patient-provider relationship to help establish a comprehensive treatment plan for each individual patient. Her true aspiration is to enhance a positive healing experience and health treatment for those in need.


She is an avid runner and volleyball player. She enjoys hiking and traveling in her spare time. Her favorite trail is Angels Landing.
